Brick Workers, Savar, Bangladesh
This shot is taken while sitting on top of a huge kiln made up of bricks made into rooms to fire new bricks. The chimneys are moved to new positions each dry season. During the wet season these areas are all flooded creating a haunting landscape of chimneys poking out of the water. Working on these kilns is extremely hot work, even walking on them requires one to keep moving. The men use rods to lift lids to refuel and check the fire. The silver pot by the man on the right contains the mens lunch cooking slowly on the hot bricks.
If I sat too long in one place my tyres would start to melt.
